2.85mm diameter filaments such as this one are appropriate for the majority of 3D printing tasks.
ABS is a resilient and hard-wearing plastic that resists high ambient temperatures.
It is an excellent material for printing pieces that need to be able to take a lot of punishment or wear and tear but it does not print sharp edges or fine details very well so it is not recommended for printing decorative pieces.
ABS retains some of its flexibility after the initial printing process so it's easy to work on it further.
