How do I install my Epson printer?

Getting started with your Epson printer? We’re happy to help you on your way. First things first, make sure you have all of the printing essentials for getting started including printer paper, ink cartridges, your computer or laptop, and a USB printer cable. Most Epson printers don’t come with a network cable, but you can easily order one separately at 123ink.

Getting your Epson printer ready for installation

First, you can remove the printer from the packaging, paying extra attention to the inside of your printer when removing the packaging material. The printer itself can also contain protective material on the inside. If you are unsure that you have removed everything, you can check the manual.

Now that the printer has been unpacked and all protective materials have been removed, you can connect the power cord and connect the printer with the USB-b cable or the network cable if necessary. If you want to connect wirelessly, there’s no need for the printer cable. You can then go ahead and load the paper tray with paper and insert the cartridges. When you turn on your Epson printer, the device will ask you to select a language. You can select the desired language by following the instructions on the screen of your printer.

How do I insert ink cartridges into my Epson printer?

Open the door that contains the slot to where the ink cartridges are held. Make sure you use the correct levers so you don't force the cover open. Many Epson printers have an option on the display to "change cartridge", this will move the slider that holds the cartridges into a position where you can access them easily. This feature is not available for EcoTank printers. Epson EcoTanks work differently as you must pull out the tank and fill them directly from the ink bottle.

It is important to ensure that the correct colour ink cartridge is inserted into the correct slot. Once you are sure, you can remove the protective strip from the ink cartridges if it is present, or remove the cap from the cartridge and click the cartridges into the holder, closing the door securely.

Does my Epson printer come with enough ink?

We would like to point out that the supplied ink cartridges contain only a small amount of ink for printing the test pages. On our Epson ink cartridge page, you can search by your printer number or ink cartridge number, you will find which 123ink cartridges are suitable for your Epson printer. After inserting the cartridges, the printer will begin to start up. This takes about 5 to 10 minutes. The printer will then prompt you to create a test print.

How do I connect the Epson printer to my computer or laptop?

You will need to decide whether you want to connect the printer with a network cable, via a printer cable (USB-b cable) or, if possible, print wirelessly via the Wi-Fi network. You can use the printer screen to select which connection it should make. You can use the control panel to see whether the printer is connected to the network. Epson printers are often supplied without a network cable and USB cable, of course, you can contact 123ink for this.

How can I connect my Epson printer to WiFi?

You can connect your Epson to the WiFi network by following the instructions on the printer screen. First, look for the WiFi symbol. This is probably located at the top of the screen. Then, select 'WiFi' and go to the Wizard WiFi settings. Choose the network you want to connect to. Enter a password, if required, and your printer will now be connected to the internet.

How do I print from my smartphone with my Epson printer?

To print from your smartphone, you don't need to download drivers or operating systems first. You can get started right away. Just download the Epson iPrint app on the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Once the app has finished downloading, open it. Make sure you're connected to the same WiFi network as your printer. Otherwise, the app won’t be able to find the printer. The app ensures that your Epson printer is found by your device so that you can also send print jobs from these devices. You are now ready to print documents or images from your phone using your Epson printer.

How do I find the right Epson printer software?

When your Epson printer is connected to your computer, install the necessary printer software. If your computer has a CD-ROM drive, use the included installation CD. Another option is to download the software from the Epson website. Enter the product name of your printer here and then download the necessary software. You can skip the initial steps. These involve preparing the printer, which you have already done in previous steps.

Install your Epson printer software

Open the downloaded printer software and accept the license agreement. Then the installation will start automatically. This may take several minutes. Then you can connect the printer and follow the final steps of the installation process.

Print with your Epson printer

Now that you’ve completed the installation process, you’re ready to make your first print. If your printer is not on the list of available devices, you can choose the option to ‘add printer’ in Microsoft Word, or ‘show more’ in Google Chrome. Then simply add your printer to the list so that you can start printing with your new Epson printer.

If you have bought your Epson printer from 123ink and need some assistance, our customer service team is ready to assist you.
