This chip resetter is suitable for:
- LC-123 series brand cartridges
- LC-125 series and original brand cartridges
- LC-127 series and original brand cartridges
The installation cartridge (included with the printer) and the original Brother LC-123 cartridges can not be reset.
The latest Brother cartridges have a chip. This chip communicates the ink level in the printer. When the cartridge is nearly empty, you will get a message on your screen that you need to replace the cartridge. Brother printers, however, hold very large margins, leaving residual ink in the cartridge remains. If you reset the chip before this message appears, you can indeed use the entire contents of the cartridge.
Reset the cartridge before you get the message that the cartridge needs to be replaced and is almost empty. After the notification, it is no longer possible to reset the chip. We recommend to reset the chip when the cartridge is still half full.
