How do I clean a doormat?
Doormats can be cleaned in various ways. However, this does depend on the type of mat you have:
- Cotton doormat: Carpet beater, vacuum cleaner, garden hose or washing machine up to 30°C.
- Coconut doormat: Carpet beater, vacuum cleaner, brush, or lukewarm water with a dash of vinegar. Nylon doormat: sweeping brush.
- Polypropylene (PP) doormat: Carpet beater, vacuum cleaner or washing machine up to 30°C.
- Rubber doormat: Vacuum cleaner, garden hose, brush, or lukewarm water with a capful of green soap.
Always let your doormat dry in the shade after cleaning it with water. Direct sunlight can cause discolouration.
