Replace your Brother DR-243CL drum to get a tip-top print every time

Are you still ending up with streaks after replacing the Brother TN-243 toner in your laser printer? You can prevent these streaks, smudges or blank spots on your prints, by simply replacing the Brother DR-243CL drum unit instead. Replacing the drum unit in your printer can be completed without the help of a technician, so why not give it a go yourself!

Follow these 8 steps we have outlined below to successfully change your laser printers’ drum:

1. Make sure your Brother printer is turned and allow it to cool completely.
2. Open the front cover of your printer (the same place you insert your Brother TN-243 toners).
3. Take out the drum unit, along with the toner cartridge. We recommend you place the drum and toner on a flat surface with disposable paper underneath, as toner powder may accidentally spill. You might also consider wearing gloves for this process to avoid your hands becoming dirty.
4. Push down the green lock lever and remove the toner cartridge from the Brother DR-243CL drum unit.
5. Put the toner cartridge into the new drum unit until you hear it lock into place. If it has been inserted correctly, then the green lock lever will lift back into place.
6. Place the drum unit and toner back into your Brother printer. Don’t close the front cover of the printer yet.
7. Press and hold down the ‘Go’ button on your laser printer for about 4 seconds, until all the LEDs light up. Once they do, you can release the ‘Go’ button.
8. You can then close the front cover of your Brother printer and once the ‘Drum’ light is no longer lit, you are free to print with your Brother TN-243 toners again.

While these units are designed to be used in conjunction with Brother TN-243 toners, you can also use them for the higher capacity TN-247 toners, as they are physically the same. These drum units have a printing capacity of up to 18,000 pages, so you won’t have to change the drum as often as the toner. By selecting our own-brand Brother DR-243CL drums, you will save on costs, without loss of quality.

It is important to change the drum unit as soon as your Brother printer indicates to do so as you will quickly begin to lose print quality.
